This magnificent house is the most striking house in Sarasota. I was overwhelmed by it when I first arrived in Sarasota and would love a tour of the house. It has won countless awards for its innovative architecture.

These steps were designed and built by the owner.

Jay made this sink himself. First he made the form and then turned it upside down and poured in the concrete. Around the west wall of the sink you can see a slight change in color that represents a reinforcing steel bar. If he had it to do over again he would make several improvements. One would be a vent that would encourage the water to drain our more evenly.

A note from the owner:
I originally owned the house next door which included this lot. I split off this lot and worked with an architect to design a house that would be unusual. We finally came up with a plan.
Construction was started in 2003 and completed in 2007. We were promised completion dates of under one year and so we sold the house next door and moved into a nearby rental. Then the rental house was sold so we moved and moved again. I was working at New College about a mile away but after several delays and moves the closest house I could find to rent was in Naples, FL.
